MonDaY 22nD - Meet your travelling companions at the airport prior to departing on your scheduled flight to Lyon. On arrival transfer to your festively decorated cruise ship moored at the Quai Claude Bernard. Settle into your cabin before getting together with your Tour Manager and fellow guests for a welcome cocktail with the Captain and crew before dinner. We weigh anchor and sail past the old quarter of Lyon, spectacularly lit up against the night sky as we head for the medieval town of Viviers. tueSDaY 23rD - We have breakfast underway as we cruise down the Rhône through numerous locks. Enjoy an aperitif in the lounge listening to live music before lunch. We arrive in Viviers early afternoon. You can relax on board or join our optional guided walking tour of this medieval town including a visit to the cathedral which dominates the entrance to the gorge in the Rhône and houses the famous Gobelin tapestries. We return to the ship and enjoy a gala dinner, followed by an evening of dancing in the lounge. CHriStMaS eVe - The ship sets sail early in the morning and passes through the Bollène lock, a major engineering feat in the 1950s, on our scenic cruise to Avignon. We arrive around midday and moor here overnight. After lunch you can join an optional guided tour of this City of Popes, perched on a rocky pinnacle and surrounded by imposing ramparts. The Palace was once home to a sumptuous court and overlooks the famous Pont dAvignon immortalised in the song. Tonight we will gather around the glittering Christmas tree before a special festive dinner on board and a visit from Santa. You can go ashore to the midnight service if you wish and return to a glass of mulled wine. CHriStMaS DaY - After a leisurely start today we include a visit to the historic centre of Arles to see the Roman amphitheatre and St. Trophine Church. Why not relax on board this afternoon before we meet up for a farewell gettogether and dinner tonight. BoXinG DaY - After breakfast, its time to disembark and transfer to Nice airport for your return flight to the UK.
