The pedestrianised town centre, is alive with cafés, bars and shops. The town is close to Venlo making the perfect base for our visit to the Floriade 2012 horticultural exhibition. DAY 1 UK/Valkenburg Meet your travelling companions on the coach that will take you to Valkenburg. Join the ferry at Calais for an afternoon crossing. We then continue to Valkenburg in southern Holland, where you will stay for four nights. DAY 2 Valkenburg/Floriade 2012 Today we will take you and your travelling companions to Venlo for the Floriade 2012 exhibition. The event is organised into five zones including the Relax and Heal zone following the theme of `organic shapes'. Other zones include the Green Engine zone with industrial designs, machines and motors demonstrating the enormous resilience of nature. The Education and Innovation zone is designed to constantly present a different perspective, while greenery in cities and the creatures it attracts are highlighted in the Environment zone. There is also a World Show Stage zone, where water plays a vital role. Meals: B/D DAY 3 Monschau Today you may wish to join our optional excursion to the medieval town of Monschau, nestled in the hilly forests in the beautiful Eifel Hills region of Germany. Enjoy time at leisure to explore with your fellow travelling companions. Why not visit the castle, Monschauer Brewery Museum, the Glass works, the Red House Museum or the Mustard Mill?
