This beautiful region offers unspoilt scenery, relaxation, fine local fare and fabulous walking. The attractions of this lovely part of Greece are varied golden beaches, pretty fishing villages, sunshine and shady pine trees. We feature a splendid resort and a full programme of included walks and excursions.
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Thessaloniki. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a seven night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival. DAYS 2 TO 7 Free to relax and enjoy our excursion programme. The following excursions are included: Monastery of Agios Pavlos & Scenic Petros - A half day tour, featuring a walk through olive groves and pine forests, following the trail once used by collectors of the resin and honey for which this region is famous (approx. 4 hours' walk). Agios Efthimios - A lovely walk beginning in the mountain village of Vrastama and into the valley beyond. The valley is marked with deep ravines and water courses. The highlight is a stop at the shrine in the cave of Agios Efthimios (approx. 3½ hours' walk). Kassandra Peninsula - A beautiful walk from Sani Beach along cliffs and unspoilt beaches to the fishing village of Siviri for an included meze lunch in a seaside taverna. The views over the Aegean Sea to Mount Olympus and Kissavos are wonderful (approx. 3½ hours' walk). Parthenonas to Neos Marmaras This delightful walk features a visit to the once abandoned village of Parthenonas, a typical Macedonian settlement which has now been rebuilt, and continues to Neos Marmaras (approx. 2½ hours' walk). The following excursions are optional: Mount Athos Cruise - This is a fabulous, full day coach and cruise excursion to Mount Athos, the only monastic republic within Europe. The cruise will take us past unique monasteries, which rarely receive visitors and then only men with special permits. Lunch in Ouranoupolis is included. Holomondas Cycle Tour - A cycling tour through the evergreen forests of the Holomondas Mountains to discover Halkidiki's rural way of life. We stop in traditional coffee houses and tavernas to meet the local people, and enjoy an included souvlaki lunch in the village of Agios Prodromos (approx. 3½ hours' cycling). Enjoy a farewell get-together on the final evening. DAY 8 Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK

YOUR HOTEL
Y You will stay in the traditionally styled, Athena Pallas Village Hotel, ideally situated close to Elia Beach. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, jacuzzi and sauna. All bedrooms have private facilities, satellite TV and telephone.
WALKING INFORMATION
Our walks require a reasonable level of fitness and ideally some previous walking experience. You will need comfortable walking boots, a small rucksack, Y waterproofs, a hat and sunglasses. A local guide will also accompany you on your walks. Grade 1 Walks These are for anyone of any age. Plenty of rest stops and time to enjoy the local scenery with up to 4 hours walking a day, mostly on good paths but occasionally rough underfoot. Ascent less than 300m per day. Grade 2 Walks These are moderate, for anyone who is comfortable walking hills. Still plenty of time to rest and enjoy the scenery, however up to 5 hours walking a day on slightly more rugged terrain. Ascent less than 500m per day.
