Garda is the largest of the Italian lakes, one of Europe's most acclaimed beauty spots and one of our most popular destinations. To the north, the majestic Dolomite Mountains march down almost to the water's edge and to the south, olive groves and vineyards bask in the summer sun. You'll enjoy Y a wonderful week, with three superb included excursions and a choice of optional activities. The following excursions are optional: Cliffhanger Lunch - A half day trip to Tremosine, a resort high above Limone for a `cliffhanger' lunch, so called because of the `Balcony of Thrills' setting with panoramic views over the lake. Bolzano & Renon - A full day excursion visiting Bolzano, the capital of the Alto Adige region, with its traditional elegant houses and market square, Piazza Walther. Don't miss the opportunity of viewing the famous ice-mummy, `Otzi', on display at the archaeological museum. Or why not take a cable car ride up to the mountain plateau of Renon which overlooks the whole valley? On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together. DAY 8 Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your flight to Verona, Milan or Bergamo. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a seven night stay. This evening there will be a welcome drink before dinner. DAYS 2 TO 7 Free to enjoy our included excursions as follows: Lake Garda - A full day tour to see some of the beauty spots on this fabulous lake, surrounded by lush groves of olives, vines and citrus trees. Stop at one of the many delightful resorts where you can shop, relax with a drink and admire the spectacular scenery. You will also enjoy an included boat trip on Y the lake. Venice - There is nowhere on earth like this extraordinary city of canals, palaces and Renaissance architecture. See all the main sights such as St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge and the Doges' Palace on our full day excursion. Take a stroll around the hidden piazzas or perhaps enjoy a gondola ride through the network of canals (extra cost). Verona - A three-quarter day tour to one of Italy's most beautiful cities, the home of `Romeo and Juliet', with its magnificent Roman Arena dominating the historic centre. There will be time to explore, relax at a pavement café or browse around the shops in Via Mazzini.
YOUR HOTEL
Y You will stay at the picturesque lakeside resort of Toscolano Maderno which enjoys a panoramic position overlooking the western shore of Lake Garda. Accommodation is in the comfortable three star Hotel Adria, just a few minutes walk to the lakeside and only 20 minutes walk to the resort centre. Situated opposite the Church of St Peter & Paul, the family run hotel consists of two separate buildings and an outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by garden. The hotel has a large lounge and bar area, lift and terrace. All bedrooms have private facilities, air-conditioning, TV, telephone, hairdryer and some have balcony or terrace. The hotel also offers buffet breakfast, three course evening meals with menu choice, daily afternoon tea, live music once a week and a candlelit dinner during your stay. New in 2007 is a hotel minibus shuttle service to the Maderno ferry point (twice a day, pay locally).
