A superb two-centre holiday on the colourful Mediterranean island of Sicily. Our programme of visits and excursions features some of the finest Greek and Roman relics and wonderful coastlines.
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your flight to Catania. On arrival transfer to your hotel at Altavilla Milicia on the northern coast situated 200 feet above the sea with panaramic views for a three night stay. DAYS 2 & 3 At leisure with an included excursion as follows: Valley of the Temples - A full day excursion to the ancient ruins of Agrigento. We visit one of the world's major Greek archaeological sites the Valley of the Temples. Of the nine temples remaining, the most impressive is the Temple of Concord. The following excursion is optional: Palermo & Monreale - A full day tour to Sicily's vibrant capital, featuring a wealth of architecture. We also visit the Massimo Theatre, plus Monreale, with its beautiful 16th century Benedictine abbey. DAY 4 Depart from the hotel after breakfast and visit Piazza Armerina, to see the Roman Villa del Casale. We continue east towards Taormina and your coastal resort of Forza d'Agro for a four night stay. Located near the resort of Letojanni, the resort offers spectacular views over the Tyrrhenian coast. DAYS 5 TO 7 Free to enjoy our included excursions as follows: Taormina - A half day visit to this resort situated at the top of a sheer cliff with splendid views over the sea and Mount Etna. Mount Etna - A three-quarter day excursion visiting Sicily's most famous attraction, Mount Etna, Europe's highest volcano at a height of 10,000ft. If you dare, you can view the volcano from the highest point that is safely possible and be amazed at the breathtaking views (off road transport and guide at extra cost). The following excursion is optional: Syracuse & Ortigia Island - A fascinating full day tour visiting Syracuse, where we explore the old town of Ortigia. On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together. DAY 8 Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

YOUR HOTELS
Y You will stay in comfortable three star hotels. In Altavilla Milicia you will stay in the Hotel Torre Normanna and in Forza d''Agro the Hotel Crystal Sea. Facilities include bar, restaurant, lounge, lift and terrace. All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. Other similar hotels may be used on certain dates according to demand

DAY 6 Today we leave the Sorrento Peninsula and travel south through the regions of Basilicata and Calabria to take the short ferry crossing to Messina on the island of Sicily. On arrival transfer to your hotel in the Taormina area for a five night stay. DAYS 7 TO 10 At leisure with two included excursions (for full descriptions please refer to the Discover Sicily holiday above): Taormina - Half day. Mount Etna - Three-quarter day. The following excursions are optional (for a full description please refer to the Discover Sicily holiday): Agrigento - Full day. Syracuse & Ortigia Island - Full day. On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together. DAY 11 Transfer to Catania Airport for your return flight to the UK.
YOUR HOTELS
Accommodation is in comfortable three star rated hotels with bar, restaurant and lift. Typical of the hotels we use are the Hotel Delle Palme located in the Sant' Agata area, 2½ miles from Sorrento and the Hotel Crystal Sea in Forza d''Agro just 6 miles north of Taormina, Sicily. All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone.
