Discover the magnificent Alpine scenery of the Austrian Tirol and Bavaria, with picturesque villages, flower-filled meadows, shimmering lakes and fairy tale castles. What's more we include some great excursions, fabulous extras and plenty of time to relax.
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Continue to your hotel in northern France for an overnight stop on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 2 Continue through Germany to the Austrian Tirol, arriving at your hotel in Oberperfuss near Innsbruck early evening for a seven night stay. Welcome drink and dinner. DAYS 3 TO 8 Free to relax and enjoy our excellent range of excursions. The following are included: Oberperfuss walking tour - An introductory tour of the village. Seefeld - A half day visit to this stylish resort which has a charming centre. Neuschwanstein & Oberammergau - A full day visit to the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, the model for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. We continue to the pretty village of Oberammergau. Innsbruck & Vipiteno - This three-quarter day excursion combines the Tirol's charming capital with a scenic drive via the Europa Bridge and Brenner Pass to Vipiteno in northern Italy. Linderhof Castle & Garmisch Partenkirchen - A three-quarter day excursion to King Ludwig's favourite castle, and the nearby town of Garmisch Partenkirchen. Optional excursions include visits to beautiful Lake Achen and the pretty village of Alpbach. You are also free to take Y a pleasant stroll along the marked walking trails around the village. DAY 9 Return to northern France for a final overnight stay on a half board basis. DAY 10 Continue to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK. Return to your original departure point this evening.
YOUR HOTEL
Y You will stay in the three star Gasthof-Hotel Krone in Oberperfuss, around 10 miles west of Innsbruck. The hotel consists of two buildings linked by a walkway. Amenities at the hotel include a restaurant, bar, bowling alley and sauna (extra cost). All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with private facilities, telephone and TV.
