From glaciated lakes and snowcapped mountains to medieval villages and picturesque châteaux, there is a wealth of exciting and glorious sights to enchant and delight you. Annecy is one of the most charming and attractive towns in the Haute-Savoie region of France, built on a maze of canals, with cobbled streets and old stone bridges. The old town is lined with cafés and restaurants, and cruises on the lake offer wonderful views of the Alps. Continue to the Troyes area of France for an overnight stop on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 2 Today we make a stop in the town of Beaune, in the wine growing region of Burgundy, before arriving at your hotel in Annecy late afternoon for a four night stay. Enjoy an included welcome drink and dinner this evening. DAY 3 Included morning introductory walking tour of Annecy, with an optional boat trip on the lake. This afternoon we include an excursion to the pretty market town of Thônes and the picturesque alpine resort of La Clusaz DAY 4 Free to relax or join an optional full day tour to the mountain grandeur of Chamonix. This stylish town is the historic capital of Alpine skiing and attracts visitors all year round thanks to its superb location under the awe-inspiring gaze of western Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc. Take a spectacular cable car ride for magnificent views (at extra cost). DAY 5 At leisure or why not join our optional full day excursion visiting the walled town of Yvoire situated on Lake Geneva in France, where you can stroll through the narrow streets lined with medieval houses. From here enjoy a boat trip across the lake to the Swiss city of Geneva with free time to browse in the elegant shops and perhaps photograph the city's famous landmark fountain, Le Jet d'Eau. Dinner at the hotel this evening is included. DAY 6 Depart Annecy and head to the outskirts of Paris for a final overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis. This evening there will be a farewell get-together including dinner. DAY 7 This morning we include a panoramic tour of Paris before continuing to Calais for your return crossing to the UK, returning to your original departure point this evening. YOUR HOTEL Y You will stay in the three star Best Western International Annecy (formerly known as the Holiday Inn Garden Court), conveniently located just a short walk from the old town of Annecy.
