YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Belfast. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. This afternoon we include a city tour taking in Belfast Castle, the Cathedral and Queens University. After strolling through the Victorian streets, we head for Belfast's main shopping street, Lisburn Road and visit St. George's Market near the waterfront where you'll find antiques, craftwork and much more. Enjoy a welcome drink this evening. DAY 2 Relax or join our included full day excursion stopping at Portstewart, a popular seaside resort, before heading on to the incredible Giant's Causeway, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Ireland. This fantastic coastline of black basalt columns, white chalk and sandy beaches was created by volcanic activity around 60 million years ago - although legend has it that the giant Finn MacCool was supposed to have built the causeway to reach his love who lived in Scotland. We have time to marvel at this extraordinary natural rock formation followed by a whiskey tasting at Bushmills Distillery, the oldest licensed distillery in the world. DAY 3 We drive south to Dublin for a two night stay. En route we stop at Dundalk in Louth, the smallest county in Ireland, to admire St. Patrick's Cathedral modelled on King's College Chapel Cambridge, the neo-Gothic Courthouse and statue of the Maid of Eireann. DAY 4 This morning we have included a panoramic tour of Ireland's capital city, so rich in culture and history with its splendid Georgian squares, Trinity College, St. Patrick's Cathedral, lively O'Connell Street and the famous Guinness factory. Enjoy a farewell get-together this evening. DAY 5 Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
