The scenic glory of the Highlands and the cultural riches of Glasgow, one of the liveliest and most exciting cities in the UK, is a perfect combination of fun and relaxation, making for a wonderful break.
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Glasgow. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a four night stay. This evening enjoy a welcome drink followed by a three course dinner, with a half bottle of wine and coffee. DAYS 2 TO 4 At leisure to enjoy our included excursions: Glasgow City Tour - Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and one of the most lively, cultural and cosmopolitan destinations in Europe. Our guided tour will show you the main sights followed by free time to explore at your own pace. An outstanding architect, designer and artist, the influence of Glasgow's famous son Charles Rennie Mackintosh, acclaimed founder of `the Glasgow style' and Art Nouveau, can be seen throughout the city including the Kelvin Grove Art Gallery and Museum and Mackintosh House. The Burrell collection features amazing examples of Chinese, French and Gothic art, European tapestries, and Egyptian artefacts. You can visit one Y of the excellent contemporary galleries, or learn about the city's development at the Museum of Transport. Glasgow is a shopper's paradise. You will find high street Y favourites and shopping malls in the city centre around Sauchiehall Street, Buchanan Street and Argyle Street, and designer stores in Princes Square. Once filled with tobacco, sugar and cotton, the warehouses in Merchant City have been transformed into boutiques, bars and galleries. Funky shops, bars and restaurants lend a `village' feel to the West End. Loch Lomond & Glengoyne Distillery Our day begins with a scenic drive through the heather-clad Highlands to the banks of beautiful Loch Lomond, followed by a fascinating visit to the Glengoyne Distillery and perhaps enjoy a tasting or two of the famous malt. Y You can join our optional excursion to Edinburgh and enjoy a full day sightseeing and shopping in Scotland's fine capital. Take a stroll around the elegant Georgian squares, wander along Princes Street to the magnificent Castle perched on the volcanic crags overlooking the city, Arthur's Seat and Carlton Hill. Wander through the historic Grassmarket, or perhaps visit the Royal Yacht Britannia moored in Leith. There will be a traditional Scottish theme on one evening and a farewell get-together on the final night. DAY 5 Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

YOUR HOTEL
Y You will stay in the Erskine Bridge Hotel on the banks of the River Clyde. The delights of town and country are nearby with Glasgow city centre and the Highlands both only a short drive away. The hotel's facilities include a leisure centre with swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, as well as a fully equipped gym. The restaurant has a buffet-style carvery and serves traditional Scottish and international cuisine. All bedrooms have open views, many overlooking the river, and feature private facilities, TV, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities.
