Your itinerarY
DaY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport prior to your scheduled flight to Zurich in Switzerland and transfer to our hotel in the lovely Austrian village of Feldkirch for a six night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink before dinner this evening. DaY 2 - We include a guided orientation walk through the narrow streets and alleys around the medieval old quarter of Feldkirch and visit the imposing Montforts Schattenburg castle and museum which overlooks the town. This afternoon we visit Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein. We drive on through the lovely Swiss canton of Appenzell to St. Gallen for a visit to the Schoggi-Land Maestrani to watch the famous Swiss chocolate being made and get to sample it too! DaY 3 - Today we include a fascinating drive through Grosse Walsertal and into Bregenzerwald with its unique scenery and architecture. We will stop at a dairy in Schoppernau to see how Bergkase mountain cheese is made and have a tasting. You can take a cable car ride up the Diedamskopf to admire the view (extra cost), before we visit the SchnappsDistillery to sample the different local varieties. We drive on to the beautiful village of Schwarzenberg and continue to the top of Bödelepass with marvellous views of Lake Constance. DaY 4 - Relax, or join our included excursion into the dramatic mountain scenery of the Swiss canton of Grison. We drive to Tiefencastel and board the train up to world famous village of St. Moritz. This is one of the most dramatic stretches of the Glacier Express train route. We return by coach via the Julier Pass and medieval Chur back to Feldkirch. DaY 5 - On todays included excursion we head to the German area of Lake Constance. First stop is a stroll around Ravensburg, known as the town of towers & gates. We continue to Tettnang for a guided tour and tasting at the Krone Inn brewery, before driving on to Lindau on the shores of Lake Constance. After a walk around the beautiful island town, we take a boat trip to Bregenz. DaY 6 - Relax or join our included adventure. We drive to Rorschach and embark on a cruise through the Alten Rhein nature reserve to Rheineck. Here we board the rack and pinion railway for the ride up to Walzenhausen where we take the local post bus to Heiden and enjoy a coffee break overlooking the stunning views of Lake Constance. We travel down by mountain railway to Rorschach and drive back to the hotel. We will meet up for a farewell get-together this evening. DaY 7 - Transfer to Zurich for your return flight to the UK.
