DaY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Continue through Belgium before crossing the border into Germany, arriving at your hotel on the Moselle. Welcome drink and dinner. DaYs 2 to 4 - Free to enjoy our included excursions as follows: Burg Eltz Castle - Visit this magnificent fortress, the best preserved medieval castle in Germany, followed by a leisurely walk with your Tour Manager through the surrounding woods back to your waiting coach. Moselle Valley Tour - Our three-quarter day scenic tour includes visits to the popular wine towns of Cochem and Bernkastel, where you can sample a glass or two of the delicious local wines. Ahr Valley Walk - We drive to the picturesque Ahr Valley to enjoy one of the most popular walks in the area, the famous Red Wine Trail we will meet up with a local guide. Later we visit the delightful old walled town of Ahrweiler. The following activities are optional: Wine Tasting - A chance to sample the local wines. River Cruise - Enjoy a relaxing river cruise. On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together. DaY 5 - Leave the Moselle and return to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening.

Your hotel
You will stay in the comfortable Hotel Burghof in Dieblich, located 15km from Koblenz in the area known as the sunny lower Moselle. Originally a castle, with parts of the building dating back to 1426, the hotel enjoys wonderful views over the river. Bedrooms are comfortable with private facilities, hairdryer and television. There is a restaurant, bar and riverside terrace. Please note this hotel does not have a lift.

Please note: for 2008 departures we will stay in the comfortable Hotel Anker in the pretty riverside village of Brodenbach, situated midway between the popular towns of Cochem and Koblenz. This family-owned hotel has a comfortable bar and restaurant, riverside terrace, lift, indoor pool and all bedrooms feature private facilities, telephone and TV.
