Join this special departure and discover more about this fascinating country. After flying to Reykjavik for an overnight stay, drive across the Borgarfjördur region to Stykkisholmur for a two night stay. Take a boat trip to go bird watching before exploring the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Drive through the Valley of Horses to Akureyri for a three night stay. Visit Lake Myvatn, splendid Godafoss, and take an optional whale watching cruise from Husavik, £65*. Return to Reykjavik for the final two nights. Tour the capital, visit the Blue Lagoon and take an optional Golden Circle tour, £58* including the Waterfall of Gullfoss, Thingvellir National Park and Althingi. Your itinerarY
DaY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Reykjavik. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik for a four night stay. A welcome drink and dinner are included this evening. DaYs 2 to 4 - Free to relax and enjoy our excellent range of excursions. The following are included: Reykjavik City Tour - A half day panoramic tour of Reykjavik. The worlds northernmost capital city is an eclectic mix of traditional, brightly painted houses and modern European architecture, and is home to the worlds oldest parliament, the Althingi. Your tour will take in such sights as the fishing harbour, the Parliament buildings, City Hall, National Museum and the National Gallery. The afternoon is free for you to explore further. Viking Dinner - A traditional fun evening out. The following excursions are optional: Marine Life Cruise - A boat trip across the Bay of Faxafloi a chance to spot porpoises, seals, bird life, white beaked dolphins and even the occasional whale! Reykjanes Blue Lagoon - A half day tour visiting the Blue Lagoon, a natural geothermal pool located in a lava field. We then continue to the typical fishing town of Grindavik. The Golden Circle - A full day tour visiting the mighty waterfall at Gullfoss, before continuing to the powerful Strokkur Geyser. On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together. DaY 5 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
