DaY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport prior to your scheduled flight to Venice. On arrival we transfer to our hotel in Portogruaro, a pretty little town in the heart of the Venetian countryside, for a three night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink before dinner at a local restaurant. DaY 2 - We spend the day in Venice to experience the sights of this extraordinary city, theres nowhere on earth quite like it. St. Marks Square is a good starting point for our included walking tour with an official guide to see the main sights such as the Basilica di San Marco, the Doges Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the 325ft high Campanile de San Marco. We continue to the famous Rialto Bridge to watch the boats on the Grand Canal. Well have time to explore the hidden piazzas before returning to the hotel for dinner this evening. DaY 3 - Our first stop on todays included excursion is the pretty seaside town of Grado, before driving on to the ancient Roman town of Aquilea to see the beautiful mosaics in the Basilica. Tonight we enjoy a pizza party evening at a local restaurant. DaY 4 - We set off for Croatia and stop on en route to visit the castle of Miramare and stroll round the picturesque port and city of Trieste on the Italian border. After crossing into Slovenia, we visit the breathtaking Postojna Caves. We drive on to the elegant seaside resort of Opatija on Croatias beautiful Istrian Peninsula for a four night stay. DaY 5 - Spend a leisurely day, or join our optional excursion visiting the beautiful town of Rovinj. Enjoy the scenic panorama of the marina, the old town and Katerina Island. Then its on to charming Porec, where you can watch the boats come and go and take a stroll through the old quarter. DaY 6 - We include a lovely half day boat trip across the bay of Opatija and call in to wander around the lovely village of Lovran, before cruising back across to Volosko and finally Opatija, showing us beautiful views of the whole coastline from the sea. DaY 7 - You are free to relax or explore Opatija at your own pace. A popular holiday resort since the 19th century, the town retains an unmistakable air of grandeur, with a lovely seafront promenade known as the Lungomare, a marina, marvellous gardens, also great shops, restaurant and bars. We will meet up for a farewell get-together and dinner tonight. DaY 8 - Transfer to Venice for your return flight to the UK.

In Croatia you will stay at the splendid four star Hotel Kristal, situated right on the sea-front in the very heart of Opatija.
