The breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi Coast provides the perfect backdrop to this wonderful break. Italys most famous stretch of coastline is a unique mix of rugged cliffs, terraced lemon groves and picturesque villages that enjoy year-round sunshine. You are based in the picturesque village of Minori within easy drive of the historic town of Amalfi.
Your itinerarY
DaY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Naples. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Minori for a seven night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner this evening. DaY 2 - Free to relax and enjoy the local area. In the afternoon we include a walking tour of Minori, visiting the archaeological excavations at Villa Romana, the Basilica of Santa Trofimena, as well as the Limoncello, ceramic and confectionary producers. We return to the hotel for dinner. After dinner we have a pasta making demonstration by Signora Margherita. DaY 3 - Join our optional excursion to Pompeii, the famous Roman town frozen in time by the eruption of the nearby volcano Vesuvius in 79AD, leaving a fascinating collection of ruins and a remarkable insight into the last days of this doomed city. We continue to the popular town of Sorrento, set above the Bay of Naples. This lively resort is one of Italys most famous holiday destinations and offers some truly stunning scenery, along with a variety of shops, restaurants and pavement cafes. We enjoy an awe-inspiring drive along the Amalfi coast before returning to the hotel for our evening meal. DaY 4 - We include a half day excursion to explore remains of the classical city of Paestum including the Greek temples dedicated to Hera, Apollo and Athena, the Roman forum and amphitheatre. Dinner at the hotel this evening. DaY 5 - Relax and enjoy more of the delightful resort of Minori surrounded by greenery and deep blue waters. Sip a welcoming drink and taste local delicacies in one of the friendly cafes and bars as you watch the world go by. Alternatively, why not enjoy our optional excursion to Capri and Anacapri. Dinner at the hotel this evening. DaY 6 - Our included half day excursion takes us to the picturesque town of Amalfi, its central square dominated by the spectacular Renaissance cathedral. We continue to the cliff-top town of Ravello the jewel of the Naples coast and home to the wonderful gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo and breathtaking views of the dramatic coastline. DaY 7 - We include a three-quarter day excursion to the picturesque coastal town of Positano where the characteristic pastel coloured buildings cling precariously to the rock face. Take time to wander through the maze of streets which are lined with designer clothes shops and boutiques. Enjoy a farewell get-together this evening including music. DaY 8 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
