DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your flight to Verona or Milan. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Venice-Mestre for a three night stay. Welcome drink at the hotel. DAY 2 - Join our included full day visit to Venice. We cross the causeway separating Mestre from central Venice and then board a boat to take us to St. Marks Square. You will have plenty of free time to see all the main sights such as the Rialto Bridge, the Doges Palace, and the Basilica di San Marco, stroll around hidden piazzas and maybe take a gondola ride through the network of canals, before returning to our hotel. DAY 3 - Relax or join our optional three-quarter day Lagoon Tour, featuring the fascinating islands of Murano, famous for its glass, Burano for its lace-making and pretty pastel coloured houses, and Torcello for its Venetian-Byzantine cathedral. DAY 4 - We leave Venice-Mestre and transfer to our hotel on Lake Garda for a four night stay on a half board basis. Afternoon at leisure. DAY 5 - We include a full day excursion to some of the beauty spots around Lake Garda. We will stop at one of the many charming resorts, where you can shop, relax, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Theres also an included boat trip on the lake. DAYS 6 & 7 - Relax or join our optional excursions: Verona - A half day tour of one of Italys finest cities. See the impressive Piazza Bra dominated by the magnificent Roman Arena and the famous Juliets balcony.

In Venice-Mestre you will stay in the three star Hotel Venezia in the heart of Mestre. Facilities include a stylish restaurant, lift, bar, lounge and all bedrooms have private facilities, TV and telephone. On Lake Garda you will stay in the new four star Sporting Golf Hotel, situated between Salo and Desenzano, and just a mile from the centre of the little village of Moniga, close to the western shore of the lake. The hotel offers a very attractive restaurant, pretty patio terrace, bar and beautiful swimming pool. All the well-appointed rooms have a balcony or terrace and feature private facilities with a shower, TV, telephone, hairdryer and minibar. Theres a regular minibus shuttle into Moniga and to other resorts in the area.

Come and join in the fun as Venice celebrates the run-up to Shrove Tuesday. The tradition of Carnivale in Venice dates back to the 13th century. Its the highlight of the year in this unique Italian city, as revellers in traditional masks and fantastic costumes throng the streets and canals.
