DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions in the executive lounge prior to your scheduled flight to Shanghai. DAY 2 - Meet your Tour Manager and Chinese guide in Shanghai for a three night stay. Join our introductory tour of this vibrant and exciting city this afternoon. Enjoy a welcome drink before dinner this evening. DAY 3 - Our sightseeing tour of Shanghai includes the busy Nanjing Road, the traditional Old Town with its ancient Wu Xing Ting Teahouse and the Yu Yuan Gardens. We will also visit the beautiful Jade Buddha Temple and stroll along the The Bund, the famous riverside boulevard. This evening we visit an amazing Acrobatic Show. DAY 4 - Today we board the train for a full day excursion to Suzhou situated on Chinas historic Grand Canal. Highlights includes the Lingering Garden, the Humble Ministers Garden, plus a cruise on the Grand Canal.

DAY 5 - We transfer to Shanghai airport for our flight to Xian for a two night stay. After dinner at the hotel this evening, you are free to relax or explore the city at your own pace.. DAY 6 - Xian was once the capital of china and the most important city in Asia. We visit to the site of the incredible Terracotta Army at Li Shan Mountain. During the day we will also visit the nearby Hua Qing hot springs. This evening we have included a trip to the Tang Dynasty folklore show. DAY 7 - This morning our guided tour of Xian takes us to see the Goose Pagodas and city walls, before we transfer to the airport for our flight to Chengdu. On arrival we will have a short city sightseeing tour before reaching the hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 8 - Morning departure for our drive to the Wolong Nature Reserve, located between the Sichuan Basin and the Tibetan Mountains. We arrive at our hotel at lunchtime for an overnight stay. We visit the Sanctuary this afternoon and return to the hotel for dinner.
DAY 9 - This morning we pay a visit the Panda Museum, before the drive back to Chengdu after lunch for an overnight stay. DAY 10 - We transfer to the airport for our flight to Chongqing, where we board our cruise ship for a three night Yangtze cruise. DAYS 11 to 12 - We cruise to the Three Gorges Dam, where we pass through the locks, and proceed downstream through Xiling Gorge. We continue through the Wuxia and Qutang Gorges and will make a stop to take a side trip up the Shennong Stream. DAY 13 - We arrive in Yichang this morning and transfer to Wuhan for our flight to Beijing. On arrival we enjoy an introductory city tour which takes us to see Chang An Avenue and the Temple of Heaven, before reaching our hotel for a three night stay. DAY 14 - Beijing is an extraordinary city. Today we visit Tian an Men Square, bordered by the Qianmen Gate and the Great Hall of the People, then proceed through the Gate of Heavenly Peace to the Forbidden City, home to the Imperial Palace. After lunch we will make a short stop to see the pandas at Beijing Zoo, before continuing to the outskirts of the city to visit the magnificent, 800-year-old Summer Palace with its fascinating long corridor and marble boat. This evening we have included a visit to the Beijing Opera DAY 15 - This morning we visit the Great Wall, which passes within 40 miles of Beijing at Badaling, where it is wide enough to let five horsemen to ride abreast. Here you will have plenty of time to walk along the historic ramparts. After lunch we continue to the remarkable Ming Tombs museum, where thirteen emperors are buried. We will enjoy a special Peking Duck dinner this evening. DAY 16 - You will transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. As you are flying westwards, you will arrive later the same day.
