Alaska is a world apart. Known to Americans as the `Last Frontier', it offers snow-clad mountain ranges, deep blue fjords, colossal tidewater glaciers, forests, lakes and rare wildlife on an unparalleled scale.
By far the most dramatic and beautiful region of this vast state is the south-east coastline, known as the Inside Passage, with its myriad islands, channels and inlets. The only way to appreciate the natural wonders of this region fully is by ship. Indeed, there are no roads along the coast. Y You will glide into remote inlets and bays, call at picturesque and historic waterfront communities, view whales and seals from close by, and witness the spectacular birth of icebergs, crashing from the face of shimmering glaciers. All meals are included during the cruise. It is important to note that this Alaska Cruise can only be taken as an `add-on' and should be read in conjunction with the Canadian Rockies & Vancouver tour on pages 20-21, the Rocky Mountaineer tour on page 22 and our Grand Canadian Adventure tour on pages 26-27 depict the riotous living of those days. DAY 5 - Glacier Bay National Park A Arrive 0700 ~ Depart 1600 Glacier Bay will be the scenic highlight of your cruise. Great ice castles float serenely in radiant blue-green water. And, as a glacier calves and thousands of tons of ice crash into the mirror-calm water, so a sound like thunder echoes across the bay. DAY 6 - Ketchikan A Arrive 1400 ~ Depart 2000 Ketchikan is a quaint weathered town clinging to the mountainside. You may wish to take a seaplane flight over the Y spectacular Misty Fjords, explore the Totem Poles Park or k simply enjoy a lunch of fresh Alaskan salmon. DAY 7 - As you cruise the Inside Passage back towards A Vancouver, the scenic splendours continue to unroll before you, a wonderland of ice and rock, forest and river, which will remain in your memory and photo album for a long time to come. DAY 8 - Morning arrival in Vancouver followed by a transfer A to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 9 - Arrival in the UK. A

DAY 1 -This will be Day 10 of your Canadian Rockies and A Vancouver tour, Day 10 of your Canadian Rocky Mountaineer tour or Day 15 of our Grand Canadian Adventure tour. The morning will be free in Vancouver before an afternoon transfer to join Holland America Line's magnificent Statendam in Vancouver harbour. The ship will leave at 5.00pm. DAY 2 - Your cruise has begun and ahead lie days of luxurious A Y relaxation and exploration as your ship traces the outline of North America's most scenic coastal landscape. As you cruise the Inside Passage for the first time, keep a watchful eye open for breaching whales, soaring eagles, shoreline grizzlies and inquisitive seals. This is a natural playground for wildlife. DAY 3 - Juneau A Arrive 1400 ~ Depart 2230 Explore Alaska's capital, or perhaps visit the mighty Mendenhall Glacier.
