Explore the stylish city of Vancouver, V gaze in awe at the mighty snow-capped peaks of the Rockies and enjoy our excellent selection of included excursions. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions in the A executive lounge prior to your scheduled flight to Calgary. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Banff for a f three night stay. Welcome drink on arrival. DAY 2 - Welcome breakfast followed by an included A tour of Banff, a natural starting point for your Rockies adventure. In Banff National Park you will marvel at wondrous snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear lakes and sparkling streams, and drive through rugged canyons with crashing waterfalls. The park is a vast wilderness of huge pine forests where black and grizzly bears still roam free. Here you will enjoy a trip through the surrounding area, including visits to the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner and Bow Falls, and have the chance to take a ride on the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. DAY 3 - Free to explore Banff and the surrounding A area, or join our optional excursion to Lake Louise. Many writers described Lake Louise as the most beautiful place in Canada ­ a glacial, jade-green lake, high in the mountains surrounded on all sides by towering peaks. DAY 4 ­ We head north along one of North America's A most majestic highways. At times the Banff-Jasper Highway reaches almost 7,000ft above sea level, whilst the great mountain ranges flanking both sides of the highway soar to more than 11,000ft. A stop will be made at the Great Columbia Icefield where there will be an opportunity to take an Ice Explorer ride across the Athabasca Glacier. We arrive in Jasper early evening for a two night stay. DAY 5 ­ Today we go sightseeing in and around A T Jasper. This former railroad town is now the focus of its own breathtakingly beautiful National Park and is ideally situated for us to explore the vicinity and the sparkling Pyramid and Patricia Lakes. DAY 6 ­ We leave Jasper and travel along the TransA Canada Highway, around Mount Robson , the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and over the Yellow Head Pass for an overnight stay in the Kamloops area. DAY 7 ­ We continue across British Columbia through A the rugged Fraser Canyon, which for many years could only be negotiated by wagon trains and mules, but is now served by a fast, smooth highway. From Hope we gradually descend through the rich green valleys to Vancouver for a three night stay. DAY 8 ­ Vancouver has one of the most beautiful A settings of any city in the world. It is surrounded by mountains, forests and beautiful islands. As Canada's third largest city, it is a busy seaport and important centre for the fishing and timber industries. This morning our half day introductory tour of Vancouver will take us to see Chinatown, Gas Town, the remarkable 1,000 acre Stanley Park with its famous k totem poles and the magnificent harbour. Enjoy a farewell get-together this evening. DAY 9 ­ We take the ferry across to Victoria on A Vancouver Island, the capital of British Columbia, where much of its British Victorian heritage is still preserved. We will visit the marvellous Butchart Gardens, the Parliament Building and the fabled Empress Hotel. DAY 10 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight A to the UK. DAY 11 - Arrival in the UK.
