Angkor Wat CAMBODIA Siem Reap
Mekong DAY 1 - This will be Day 12 of your 13 day Vietnam AY Tonle Sap Lake River tour. Drive from Phan Thiet to Can Tho. Overnight Phnom Penh VIETNAM at the Victoria Hotel in Can Tho. Chau Doc Saigon DAY 2 - Morning boat trip to the floating market AY Can Tho at Cai Rang. Return to Can Tho to explore this bustling township. You then drive to Chau Doc and South China Sea board your special fast cruise boat for the journey y up river. After stops at the border stations, and the town of Phumi Prek Khsay you will arrive in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, in the late afternoon. Transfer to the Sunway Hotel or similar for a two night stay. DAY 3 - Phnom Penh is recovering rapidly from its turbulent past. Full sightseeing AY will include the magnificent Royal Palace, the History Museum, the waterfront, the Russian Market, the Wat Phnom and the General Market. Dinner will be at the fabled Foreign Correspondents' Club by the river. DAY 4 - Morning flight to Siem Reap for two nights' accommodation at the A Angkor Hotel or similar, and the start of a full, included sightseeing programme of the Angkor complex, which has become the symbol of Cambodia. The 12th century Angkor Wat is the largest, and the most breathtaking, with its 180ft high central tower and extraordinary bas-reliefs. The fortified city of Angkor Thom is enclosed by eight miles of 25ft high walls. Inside is the magnificent Temple of Bayon, with its famous intricate carvings from Hindu mythology. The temple of Ta Prohm has been deliberately left to the ravages of the jungle, and its walls and towers are enveloped by the limbs and roots of giant banyan trees. We really cannot do justice to this amazing place in a few paragraphs. You must see it for yourself! DAYS 5 & 6 - Continue Angkor sightseeing. You will also drive to Tonle Sap Lake A to take a boat trip to the remarkable floating villages, and enjoy a special dinner accompanied by a display of Khmer Classical Dance. Late afternoon transfer on Day 6 to the airport for your return flight to Saigon for a final overnight stay. DAY 7 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, as per your original AY itinerary, with arrival the following day.
