At the Algarves peaceful western edge the living is easy. Handsome towns and fishing villages punctuate a coastline indented with cliffs and coves, each more inviting than the next.
Valverde enjoys a prime spot along this less trodden route with a generous range of facilities jostling for your attention. Within this attractive, well-run site, just a short distance from the beach, youll find a good sized swimming pool, sports facilities, a restaurant and bar. Accommodation is spaced between shady pine trees and delightful gardens.

Praia de Luz, just 2.5km away, is a tidy resort with a great beach and a real Portuguese feel but, for more culture, head a few miles further east to the wonderful town of Lagos. Here, amid cobbled squares, winding streets and open-air markets, youll find much of interest, including a lively nightlife pulsating to African rhythms - Lagos was once the centre of the trading links between Portugal and Africa. The Lands End of Portugal, Capo St Vicente is a lonely headland with magnificent sunsets.

At the heart of the Algarve, just to the east of Vilamoura, youll find this perfectly located site, just 600 metres from Portugals stunning beaches.
Make no mistake the beaches of the Algarve are every bit as alluring as youd imagined, and Quarteira allows you to stroll easily between your holiday park, with its sparkling pool and trim grounds dotted with comfortable bungalows, and the stylish resort of Quarteira complete with bars, bistros and, of course, that wonderful beach. Portugals Algarve is full of life in high season but, with good year-round weather, Quarteira makes an attractive winter bolt-hole for those seeking some warmth to see them through until summer.

With safe bathing conditions Quarteira has developed into one of the Algarves top resorts. Its long, flower-splashed promenade runs alongside an excellent sandy beach offering plenty of space to stretch out on. Quarteira is within easy reach of several championship golf courses, including the Old Course at Vilamoura and the Royal Course at Vale do Lobo. 15 km inland lies Loulé, with a charming 13th-century parish church, and a weekly Gypsy market on Saturdays where you can snap up souvenirs such as lace work, shoes and ceramics.
