A wild and beautiful country which teems with wildlife and ethereal desert landscapes almost without end.
namibia
extraordinary & beguiling
A land of parched deserts sitting under impossibly blue skies, vast red sand dunes stretch out as far as the eye can see. At first this inhospitable landscape seems like it can hold no life but the plains abound with game and holidays here come with a sizeable dose of adventure. The thrill of watching the sunset and the sounds of the desert is the stuff that dreams are made of. Breathtaking scenery and an astonishing diversity of wildlife make this one of the most memorable places on earth.
in a word
Travel in Namibia is relatively trouble free with a good infrastructure and generally high standards of accommodation. The freedom of a self drive holiday gives you the flexibility to stop when and where you choose never missing that perfect view or place of interest. Windhoek, the capital is the perfect place to start your adventure whether on an organised tour or independently. Travelling through the country is both easy and rewarding and you will find warm and friendly people who will delight at showing you their country and all its charms. On the practical side pack light cotton clothing with footwear appropriate to the places you are visiting, the evenings can get chilly so do pack a warm sweatshirt or light fleece if you are likely to feel the cold. Do take a pair of binoculars they make all the difference when viewing game as well and something to wrap both these and your camera in as the dust can get everywhere! Namibia is an immensely rewarding place to visit which manages that elusive mix of people, places, game and countryside perfectly.
