With a choice of cabins and sightseeing packages, Shongololo is an exciting way of seeing Southern Africa. shongololo express SUPERIOR MEDIUM CLASS TRAIN 41 cabins Dining Car Lounge Bar Offering a series of wonderful African journeys, Shongololo is not so much about the luxury on offer but the excitement generated by its trans African itineraries. Offering two extensive and varied itineraries, Shongololo offers a delightful and adventure filled experience. Guests travel comfortably and securely during the night to the next stop allowing for a different vista and sightseeing itinerary the following morning. Each train carries a fleet of airconditioned minibus touring vehicles with professional guides on board. For the more adventurous there are also optional activities from ballooning, to elephant riding to scuba diving available at many locations. Dining on board the train is a casual affair (dress code is comfortable attire, warm clothing for mornings and evening recommended) with two sittings in a non smoking car. The airconditioned lounge-bar accommodates up to sixty guests. Ivory class cabins come with two windows, twin beds or one window and a single bed, hand basin with running water, with a flip lid providing a small table between beds. There is shower and two wc facilities per coach. Gold Class cabins benefit from an en suite bathroom with shower, wc and hand basin. Larger, they have three windows and twin beds. Commodore cabins have twin beds, en suite shower, toilet, hand basin and airconditioning, while the largest cabin, Emerald Class enjoys spacious accommodation with double or twin beds, four picture windows and a sitting area.
