From a Lake Naivasha colonial house to a Maasai Mara tented camp with flights in between, this safari offers an enchanting insight into Kenya and her breathtaking animal kingdom. Governors' Camps boast locations and service levels second to none.
Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the lake and this spectacular area where other birds also flock, as well as baboons and warthogs. Return to Loldia for the night (approx. 50 miles).
DAY 5 h After a relaxing morning and delicious lunch overlooking the lake, fly by SafariLink light aircraft to the Maasai Mara (at certain times of year it may not be possible to fly directly to the Mara. You will return by road to Nairobi and connect with your flight to the Mara in the afternoon). Enjoy three memorable nights under canvas at the four star Governors' Camp in a Standard tent by the Mara River. The main dining area and bar are also tented a great spot for watching elephants, hippos or crocodiles! Governors' Main Camp also has electric lamps and charge points for cameras and phones only. You may upgrade to the smaller, more intimate Little Governors' (shown as Governors' Safari 2 in the price box). Afternoon game drive in the Mara escorted by professional rangers, dinner and overnight. DAY 6 h Two full days to enjoy the Mara with morning and
DAY 1 h Kenya Airways overnight flight from Heathrow
to Nairobi.
DAY 2 h On arrival transfer to the Nairobi Serena in a
Standard room for one night.
DAY 3 h Drive north to the four star Loldia House on the shores of one of Kenya's most stunning lakes, Lake Naivasha. This beautiful colonial house has eight rooms and its style is synonymous with early colonial Kenya. You will see magnificent views of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot and you can take the opportunity to relax, bird watch or enjoy walking. Hippo often graze on the lawn here at night! (approx. 56 miles). DAY 4 h Remain at Loldia House or visit Lake Nakuru
afternoon game drives searching out the Marsh Pride and other well-known big cats in probably the best location in all of the reserve, where all the BBC `Big Cat Diaries' are filmed.
DAY 8 h Morning game drive before your flight back to
National Park. Here, due to an abundance of algae in the lake, flamingos gather for much of the year. Often you can see a moving mass of pink! (seasonal).
Nairobi, where you are taken to the Serena hotel for the afternoon (you may wish to prebook a day room here) before your Kenya Airways overnight flight to Heathrow.
