14 NIGHTS MOUNTAIN RAILS: 7 NIGHTS ALASKA CRUISE: 7 NIGHTS FACILITIES Holland America's premium ship MS Statendam combines elegant surroundings with modern comforts, spacious staterooms and high standards of service to match. During the day facilities onboard include a choice of indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, a casino, a luxurious spa and fitness centre. For children aged 13 to17 years there is a playroom, video games room and supervised activities for youngsters, plus a club and deck area for teenagers. A choice of restaurants are on offer which includes a two tier fine dining restaurant and for more intimate dining the `Terrace Grill' offers fresh seafood dishes and other fine cuisine. After a mouth watering dinner, enjoy an exhilarating Las Vegas style show in the `Van Gogh Show Lounge' and if you have any energy left the Crows Nest offers amazing views from its own observation lounge by day and by night transforms into a lively nightclub. ACCOMMODATION 629 staterooms all with television, shower and two lower beds which convert to a queensize bed except where otherwise stated. DAY 1
Air Canada flight from Heathrow to Calgary, arriving the same day. Make your own way to your hotel where you will receive your information pack for the tour. Overnight Calgary.
DAY 2
Drive through the ranching country west of Calgary. Witness famous landmarks such as Tunnel Mountain Drive, Surprise Corner and Bow Falls. At Sulphur Mountain take a gondola to the summit for a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains (optional extra). The next two nights will be spent in Banff. Relax and enjoy a full day visit to the Columbia Icefield, travelling along the famous Icefields Parkway.
DAY 4
Today board the Rocky Mountaineer train from Banff to Kamloops. This spectacular journey passes through the Rocky Mountains and Kicking Horse Pass. Arrive in Kamloops late afternoon for your overnight stay.
DAY 5
Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer train and travel through `cowboy country' ranch lands into true pioneer territory. The final stretch takes you through lush farmlands and past historic towns to Vancouver. Included during your stay is a half day city tour of Vancouver and a full day trip to Victoria.
DAY 8 TO DAY 14
This afternoon make your own way to embark MS Statendam itinerary as per Alaska cruise opposite following Day 2 to Day 8.
DAY 15
Arrive back in Vancouver. Disembark and transfer on your own to the airport for your evening Air Canada flight to Heathrow arriving the following day.
