INTRODUCTION EASTERN CANADA see & do OTTAWA Canada's capital city, attractively sits south of the Ottawa River. Visit the various museums, galleries and government buildings, which can easily be explored on foot. TORONTO Toronto is Canada's largest city, located on the shores of Lake Ontario. Take time to browse around the quaint shops or take a tour around the surrounding area, which is one of Canada's most important wine producing regions. MONTREAL A lively city with a mix of French and English influences. A visit to Old Montreal is a must. Stroll along the cobblestone streets passing intimate restaurants and bars. Combine this historic area with the Latin Quarter, its Paris style café district and you have a very interesting city. QUEBEC Quebec City, capital of Quebec is perhaps one of the most European cities in North America. This walled city is divided into two towns, `Upper and Lower'. Rich in history, with winding narrow cobblestone streets, pavement cafes and jazz clubs, undoubtedly one of the most interesting and romantic cities in Canada. CHARLEVOIX REGION An ideal flydrive destination, the region of Charlevoix north of Quebec City is well worth exploring. The majestic Laurentian Mountains and the mighty Saint Lawrence River are the perfect back drop to this spectacular region. PEGGY'S COVE, NOVA SCOTIA A 40 minute drive from Halifax will bring you to Peggy's Cove, perhaps the most famous of all the countless fishing villages in Nova Scotia. Famed for its trim houses, weather-worn wharves and its lighthouse. This is a photographers delight. LUNENBURG, NOVA SCOTIA An attractive ship building town, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Explore this well preserved historic town.
