For the outdoor visitor New England offers outstanding hiking, biking, rafting and sailing as well as having a number of world-class skiing resorts, which Vermont is famous for. New Hampshire's natural beauty is evident all over the state. The tall peaks of the White Mountains ripple northern New Hampshire and the beautiful picturesque villages. The state of Maine is New England's largest state and has a vast expanse of mountains, lakes and rivers and boasts over 3,500 miles of rugged coastline. Half of Rhode Island, America's smallest state is made up of woodland making it an ideal for natural walks and exploring.
