Head south this morning through the pastoral beauty of Vermont. Stop in Manchester Village to visit the designer outlet malls for a touch of retail therapy. Later continue south through the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts for a visit to Hancock Shaker Village. Overnight in Sturbridge.

DAY 1
Fly British Airways from Heathrow direct to Boston. On arrival a shuttle bus transfer to your hotel which is located in the Boston suburb of Newton is included. On arrival your tour documentation can be collected and your tour director will be on hand to welcome you. The following morning enjoy a city tour of Boston where you get to experience the past and present, viewing sights ranging from the Old North Church to the modern John Hancock Tower. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own. Walk along the Freedom Trail or smell the delicious delights of Quincy Market.
DAY 7
Today we travel to Newport, Rhode Island, the sailing capital of New England. Here, at the turn of the last century, America's most wealthy families lived. A tour is included to one of their mansions or `cottages' as they were referred to. Final stop is Cape Cod, where the next two nights will be spent. During your stay in Cape Cod you have the choice of a trip across to Martha's Vineyard, New England's largest and perhaps most famous island or a whale watching cruise. (weather permitting).

DAY 3
After breakfast we head north out of Boston along the North Shore of Massachusetts and the southern coast of Maine. We will pass through the town of Salem, noted for its 17th Century witchcraft trials. Continue on to Portland for your overnight stay.

DAY 9
Leave Cape Cod behind and head north back to Boston, A stop and tour of Sandwich is included and also some time at Plimoth Plantation, a recreation of a 1627 village. Late afternoon arrival at Boston airport in time for your British Airways flight to Heathrow arriving the following day.
DAY 4
We begin the day with a stop at Portland Head Light, before we head inland to New Hampshire's White Mountains. Travel along the scenic Kancamagus Highway, an old Indian Trail which cuts through the National Forest. An aerial tram ride to the summit of Cannon Mountain is included (weather permitting) which offers amazing views of the surrounding area. Overnight in Jackson, New Hampshire.
DAY 5
More than 1,300 lakes adorn New Hampshire's Lakes Region, location of the popular film `On Golden Pond'. Today's journey will pass by two of these lakes, Lake Winnipesaukee and Squam en route to Vermont's Green Mountains.
