exploring the western states
picturesque & breathtaking
From the blue waters and rugged coastline of the Pacific to the barren deserts of Arizona, Utah and Nevada or the lesser known but picture perfect states of South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado, the Western States of America has some of the most spectacular natural scenery available anywhere in the world. Married together with the cosmopolitan cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles and the mesmerising sights of Yosemite and Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon, the west has so much to explore.
in a word
The Western States has so many highlights, in fact too many to mention and visit in one trip. Starting in the north, South Dakota's most famous attraction is Mount Rushmore, a magnificent site where the four faces of former American presidents are carved in the rock face. Denver, Colorado is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and the world class ski resorts of Vail and Aspen. As well as amazing skiing, the area that surrounds Denver is home to wildlife, including sheep, moose and beavers. Arizona is sometimes referred to as the `Grand Canyon State' but this is by no means the only attraction in the state. Visit the attractive town of Flagstaff or Sedona which is set amongst dramatic red rock hills. If you want a taste of the old West, you'll find it in Texas. Home to the Space Centre, attractive cities as well as many outdoor activities including rock climbing, kayaking and horse riding.
