Visit the 5th Station of Mount Fuji before continuing to Owakudani, a hot spring crater area. Cruise on Lake Ashi and ride the Komagatake Ropeway. DAY 6: TAKAYAMA Journey by rail to the beautifully preserved mountain town of Takayama for a charming walking tour. Option to stay in a `ryokan', a traditional Japanese inn. DAY 7: KYOTO Visit a local market before driving through the Japanese Alps to the 12th Century village of Shirakawago. Continue by train to Kyoto for three nights.
