Visas: No visas are required for British and Irish passport holders provided their stay does not exceed 30 days. Please note British Subject passport holder DO need a Visa for the UAE. As a result, many of the old ways have survived which is what makes Fujairah so charming. Its main attraction is its expansive beaches and excellent diving. The warm waters of the Gulf of Oman offer a vibrant underwater world teeming with fish and coral formations. If you can tear yourself away from the beach, head up through the winding roads into the Hajar mountains for spectacular vistas, small oasis villages and deep canyon scenery. FUJAIRAH MUSEUM A bizarre building that houses a veritable treasury of historical wonders and traditional folklore materials collected from archeological sites around the emirate. AL-BIDIYAH MOSQUE Established in 1600 A.D. and located close to the village of Bidiyah, it is a unique four domed Ottoman mosque, the oldest standing mosque in the UAE. FUJAIRAH FORT A huge castle built in 1670 A.D. with impressive halls and towers, it is located within the city of Fujairah. In Phoenician times this was the scene of aggressive fighting due to its strategic location. The view from the top of the fort across the charming city below, the forests of date palms and out to sea, is spectacular. SHOPPING Don't miss a short visit to Khor Fakkan Souk for a spot of bartering by day. The souk offers clothes, textiles, household goods and spices. The Friday market at Masafi is one of the best places in Fujairah for souvenirs and gifts ranging from carpets and local crafts to pottery. EXPLORING THE WADIS Fujairah is well known for some of the most beautiful wadis in the region ­ dry, rocky river beds perfect for exploring. OVERNIGHT SAFARI Discover the essence of Arabia with an exciting overnight safari by four-wheel drive vehicle, across wind sculptured dunes. Set up camp amidst the dunes and enjoy a barbecue feast. SNORKELLING AND DIVING Fujairah is well known for its excellent snorkelling and diving in the warm waters of the Gulf of Oman.
