If for any reason the mentioned hotels are unable to accommodate you, we will use hotels of a similar grade. GRATUITIES h Porterage is included at hotels and airports. Tips for your driver and guide are not included and we recommend you do this at the end of your holiday. TRAVEL TIPS h The best time to visit is spring or autumn when the days are warm and the nights are cool but not cold. Head protection, sun lotion and sunglasses are essential. Evenings in the desert always get cold so a jumper or jacket is recommended. Due to the bumpy, rough nature of the terrain the trip into the Wadi Rum by four-wheel drive is not recommended for anyone with back problems. NB h Included in the tour are all entrance fees to the sites mentioned; a local English speaking guide throughout except on Day 1, 7 and 8; short horse ride in Petra (after your ride tipping is strongly recommended) and a fourwheel drive Jeep tour inside Wadi Rum desert. The Mujib Nature Reserve, Bethany and Pharaoh's Island excursions are all optional and therefore available at an additional cost.

DAY 5 h Explore the breathtaking city of Petra which was carved out of the rose-red sandstone 2,000 years ago, and recently has been voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Walk through the Siq, the narrow gorge that leads to Petra's most impressive monument, the Treasury. Explore the Street of Facades, the Theatre, the Royal Tombs and the Monumental Arch. In the afternoon, if you wish, you can climb a flight of 900 steps, cut in the rock, up to the gigantic monument know as the Monastery with its remarkable views over Wadi Araba. Standing an impressive 47 metres wide and more than 48 metres high this last climb offers unrivalled views and a just reward. DAY 6 h The morning is at leisure. At noon drive to Wadi
Watch the sun sink below the horizon before proceeding to Sahara camp where a bonfire and candles will light up the walls of the rock towering above the camp. Sit back on luxury Arabic rugs and cushions while you enjoy oriental music and dinner served under a lamp-lit Arabian tent. After dinner continue to Aqaba and your chosen hotel, Marina Plaza (four star) or Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba (five star). Alternatively you can choose to spend tonight at Wadi Rum at the Salem Bedouin Camp to further appreciate this beautiful landscape, continuing on to Aqaba the following day.
DAY 7 h Today is either at leisure to relax or transfer from Wadi Rum. If you prefer to be more active there is an optional yacht excursion to Pharaoh's Island to visit a Crusader fortress and enjoy some snorkelling (at extra cost). DAY 8 h Early morning transfer to Aqaba Airport for your
