Set in the more relaxed suburb of Maadi, close to the citys last tree lined avenues and elegant villas, the Sofitel is just 25 minutes from the centre of bustling downtown and an hour from the airport. The tall slender structure benefits guests at the hotel dramatic views of the Nile, its green lush banks and islets, used today by local farmers, and on a clear day views of the pyramids at Giza. Almost boutique in feel the Sofitel offers a wealth of facilities more akin to a much larger city centre hotel. From its small and welcoming reception elevators transport you to a beautiful pool bar and terrace, an area recently refurbished and creating the perfect place to enjoy a cold drink after a day in the city. The main bar is open until the early hours. A choice of four restaurants includes cuisines from Mexico, Italy, France and an international café that is open 24-hours. There is also a fitness centre, a number of shops, hair salon and a bank exchange located on the ground floor. All of the airconditioned rooms are elegantly furnished and have bath, shower, television, minibar, telephone and balcony overlooking Maadi or the Nile.

Nestled amongst tropical gardens, the Oasis enjoys peaceful location in Giza, minutes from the Great Pyramids. One of our favourite value for money hotels, guests enjoy the informal and friendly atmosphere more a resort than a hotel. In the heart of the tropical grounds, the alfresco palm garden, a Syrian & Lebanese restaurant offers superb regional cuisine under a canopy of stars. Inside a choice of Egyptian and international dishes served 24 hours-a-day in the Bedouin Restaurant, whilst La Terrazza, serves Italian. The Thirsty Camel Bar provides live music every night and for those in search of a quiet drink the Oasis Café, a piano bar.
