Enjoying a special location in the heart of Luxor right on the Niles corniche and within walking distance of Luxor Temple, the Mercure (remembered as the Etap by many) is a well established hotel that enjoys a resort style atmosphere. Guests return here in search of warm hospitality and a wealth of things to do on an informal trip to Egypt. There always seems to be something going on at this buzzy and lively hotel, with a choice of bars and a nightclub. The main restaurant provides theme evenings to its buffet style presentation, whilst there is a choice of Italian and international à la carte menus. A 24-hour coffee shop is also available. The large swimming pool and terrace was refurbished in 2006 and is now an up to date facility, heated during the winter. Table tennis, billiards and tennis are amongst the many organised activities that are arranged. The rooms at the Mercure are simple yet light and comfortable. Each is airconditioned with bath, shower, minifridge, telephone, television and balcony or terrace. Rooms are located in either the main building or the quieter garden wing.
