ART DECO DISTRICT Visit the famous Art Deco district of Miami's South Beach, where you'll find around 800 buildings dating back from the 1930's, that have been restored to their former glory. Highlights include the HI Clay Hotel & International Hostel, the former home of Desi Arnaz and casino ran by Al Capone and hotels such as the Tides and Leslie. MIAMI'S SOUTH BEACH One of the most hip, trendy and entertaining areas you can visit in Florida. It has a vibrant and exotic Latin feel which stems back from its Spanish founders from the early 16th century. Here you'll find some of the most exquisite and funky hotels such as the Delano and National. SHOPPING This is definitely shopper's paradise with an array of different shopping venues to suit every taste and budget. For one of a kind and designer items head to the boutiques in South Beach.
Aventura Mall, just north of Miami is home to big department stores such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's or for waterfront shopping, Coconut Grove is a lively retail centre with a selection of outside stalls selling quirky jewellery and souvenirs. Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale, is Florida's largest retail and entertainment mall and features over 350 shops selling everything from reasonable designer clothes and shoes, to sportswear and cosmetics. DINING Miami offers something for every palate and budget. South Beach is home to numerous restaurants serving all manner of cuisine. Cafés serving paninis and strong Columbian coffee. Nuevo cuisine is served in elegant surrounds in many of the fine hotels that line South Beach. If you want to experience typical Cuban cuisine head for Little Havana. NIGHTLIFE Miami is party town and is one of the world's busiest nightspots. Nightclubs owned by the rich and famous are dotted along South Beach playing Latino, jazz and up tempo music. Miami is one of the coolest and famous places to party!
NATURE Learn about the land, history and culture of the famous Seminole Indians at Billy Swamp Safari or connect with nature in the 60 acres of botanical gardens and the wildlife sanctuary at Flamingo Gardens. Here you'll witness rare, exotic and native plants and a birds of prey centre where you will spot gracious pink flamingos. One of the other most popular attractions in Fort Lauderdale is the Everglades where you can experience breathtaking airboat rides through the `River of Grass' and spot hungry alligators or go fishing or camping. ART As well as its great shopping, choice of hotels, wonderful restaurants and waterfront setting, Fort Lauderdale has a whole host of art galleries and museums. The Museum of Art hosts major exhibitions of Jewish and Christian treasures or learn about the Seminole Indians way of life in an authentic Indian Village at Seminole Okalee Village.
