DAY 8
Fly with Vietnam Airlines into neighbouring Cambodia. On arrival in the capital Phnom Penh transfer to the first class Sunway hotel (p86) or the deluxe Raffles Le Royal (p86) for your next two nights. Explore the city on our prebookable City Tour which includes the splendid Wat Phnom, Royal Palace, Wat Ounalom, National Museum, Russian Market and the notorious Tuol Sleng detention centre.
DAY 1
Fly Thai Airways overnight to Bangkok, connecting onwards to Vietnam's capital Hanoi. On arrival, transfer to the first class Sunway hotel (p68) or deluxe Sheraton Hanoi (p70) for your next three nights. DAY 1
Fly British Airways to Hong Kong, arriving the next day before connecting onwards with Cathay Pacific to Ho Chi Minh City for three nights at the first class Windsor Plaza (p48) or the deluxe Sheraton Saigon (p50). This vibrant city has emerged as the commercial capital of Vietnam and offers a mix of cafés, shops, markets and sights. While here, we recommend visiting the nearby Cu Chi Tunnels offering an insight into the intense hardship and resilience of the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War.
DAY 12
Fly Siem Reap Airways to Siem Reap for three nights at the first class Sokha Angkor (p82) or the deluxe Sofitel Royal Angkor (p84). The town of Siem Reap offers many restaurants and some good shopping but the main reason people visit is for the nearby temples of Angkor. We would recommend booking our full day or two day tour, offering an excellent introduction to the main temples.
