Long famed for its artistic heritage, Florence has been celebrated as the most beautiful city in Italy. florence Florence, situated in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside is one of the best known and most loved cities in Italy. Airport: Pisa (or Florence with indirect flights from UK see p12-13). Transfers: Return transfers are not included in Florence. On arrival at Pisa airport you can either take a train to Santa Maria Novella station (approx 60 mins). After 6pm a taxi to Pisa Centrale where you can get a train to S.M.Novella station. From Florence airport, take a bus to the bus station. From Santa Maria Novella station a taxi to your hotel. From Florence airport a taxi to the centre. Alternatively private car transfers are available on request. Shops: Most shops open Mon to Sat 9am-1pm, 3.30-7.30pm, although you may find some food shops closed Mon am or pm. Banks: Open Mon-Fri 8.30am-1 and 2.30-4pm.
