In a peaceful setting overlooking the town centre, the Hotel Belvedere has excellent facilities and a reputation for good food, making this one of the best hotels in Locarno. Only six minutes walk or a few minutes by cable car from the hotel you will reach the Piazza Grande teaming with pavement cafés and the flower lined lakeside promenade, the delightful Belvedere is beautifully located in a sunny position with wonderful views of the lake and mountains. Originally a grand villa for visiting royalty, it is now a magnificent hotel retaining many of its original features. The interaction of modern comfort, antique style and ageless elegance is the secret of the harmony of the Hotel Belvedere. Excellent facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a garden pool (April to October) and a lawn for sunbathing. The conservatory style restaurant serves a set four-course dinner with choice and a buffet each Wednesday. There is an à la carte restaurant as well as a pool restaurant in the garden. The cosy bar serves a selection of drinks and cocktails plus daytime snacks. There is a small fitness room, sauna, solarium and a complete programme of massages and beauty treatments available in the spa. All rooms with lakeview are very spacious, stylishly furnished and have twin beds, bath or shower, telephone, radio, airconditioning, minibar and television, most have south facing balconies over rooftops towards the lake.
