VOLUBILIS & MEKNES

Departing from your chosen riad or hotel, journey through the patchwork fields and countryside to Volubilis. One of Rome's furthest capitals, Volubilis is a stunning city and despite being plundered for its stone much of the city and streets remain. With views of the surrounding countryside it is little wonder why the Romans chose this spot to build Volubilis. Continue to the beautiful city of Meknčs. Built by Moulay Ismail, a leader that dominated the history of the country and who laid the foundations of modern Morocco and envisaged his palace stretching all the way to Marrakech! Though this never came to fruition, Meknčs today is still a breathtaking city. From the winding alleyways of the medina to the grand open spaces of the Royal Palaces. This full day includes lunch and returns to Fes late afternoon. Famous for its antiques, shopping in Fes is amongst the best we've seen. Discover the breathtaking architecture, scriptures carved into plasterwork, beautiful tiles and climbing bougainvillaea. Traditional green shutters and doorways provide a myriad of colours.
