12 NIGHTS MELBOURNE: 3 NIGHTS ALICE SPRINGS: 1 NIGHT ULURU: 2 NIGHTS CAIRNS: 3 NIGHTS SYDNEY: 3 NIGHTS DAY 1 Fly from Newcastle or Manchester with Emirates via Dubai to Melbourne, and transfer to your hotel for three nights. Enjoy some sightseeing in the city at your leisure. On the evening of your arrival, savour dinner onboard Melbourne's famous Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. Next day, see the sights of Melbourne including the Royal Botanic Gardens, St Peter's Cathedral, Parliament House and the Shrine of Remembrance, travelling in the afternoon to Phillip Island where you will visit the Koala Conservation Centre. Observe the nightly ritual of the worldfamous Fairy Penguin Parade before returning to Melbourne late in the evening. DAY 5 Depart the city over the Westgate Bridge and travel through Geelong to Torquay and the famous Bells Beach. As you join the Great Ocean Road, marvel at the golden sandy beaches, sheer cliffs and amazing rock formations. Pass through the seaside towns of Anglesea and Lorne before stopping for lunch at Apollo Bay (at own expense). Travel inland through the inspiring Otway Ranges, before returning to the coastline to visit the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. Visit Port Campbell for afternoon tea (at own expense), before returning to Melbourne. DAY 6 This morning, transfer to Melbourne airport for your flight to Alice Springs with Qantas. On arrival, take a tour of this remote outback town, including a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The following day, continue to breathtaking Uluru (Ayers Rock). Visit a camel farm where you have the option to ride a `ship of the desert' (at extra cost). Travel through desert plains to the Olgas, walk to the Valley of the Winds, then view the sunset and enjoy an Australian barbecue dinner. DAY 8 Rise early to experience Uluru at sunrise. Tour the caves at the base of the rock and hear the Aboriginal `Dreamtime' legends explained. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the resort facilities and, later, enjoy a glass of wine as you watching Uluru's colours change with another sunset. The following morning is also at leisure before your flight with Qantas from Ayers Rock airport to the tropical city of Cairns. Transfer to your hotel for three nights. DAY 10 This morning, board the Great Adventures high-speed catamaran to the Outer Barrier Reef. There is time for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving (at extra cost locally) or coral viewing by semisubmersible. Enjoy a buffet lunch onboard the Great Adventures pontoon. DAY 11 Travel on the famously scenic Kuranda Railway through the tablelands to the picturesque township of Kuranda. Explore the market or take other optional tours before returning via the Skyrail Cableway across the rainforest to be entertained at the internationally renowned Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. The following day, transfer to Cairns airport for your flight with Qantas to Sydney, where you will be staying for three nights. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Australia's `Grand City on the Harbour'. DAY 13 Tour the sights of Sydney and the historic Rocks District, pass the iconic Opera House and peaceful Botanic Gardens to appreciate the views from Mrs Macquarie's Chair, then travel through King's Cross to Bondi Beach. Return to the city for a relaxing harbour cruise with lunch, before crossing Sydney Harbour Bridge to Manly. Return to the city in the afternoon. DAY 14 Pass over the Anzac Bridge on your way to the Blue Mountains, stopping at Featherdale Wildlife Park to see koalas and kangaroos, before continuing to Govetts Leap for a photographs. Visit the quaint village of Leura for lunch (at own expense), and then follow the Cliff Drive with views over Jamison Valley, Echo Point and the Three Sisters. Take a ride on the world's steepest railway (at extra cost) then depart for a quick photo stop at Narrowneck Lookout before returning to the city via Sydney's Olympic site. DAY 15 Transfer to Sydney airport for your Emirates flight via Dubai to Newcastle or Manchester, arriving the next day.
