Coral Strand is a well established, friendly hotel boasting a prime position right on the shores of Mahé's most famous beach, Beau Vallon, on the north coast of the island. Just three miles from the bustling Seychelles capital, Victoria, Coral Strand is an ideal base for exploring the island and enjoying the calm waters of the bay. Coral Strand sits directly on the beach, offering spectacular views from the main `Island Trader' restaurant in particular, which serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner (this restaurant is for half board guests). There is also a delicious Indian restaurant, famous throughout Mahé for some of the best Indian cuisine in the Seychelles, where you can watch the chefs prepare your food through a large glass window. The swimming pool area, with a friendly and bustling atmosphere is on the beachfront next to the Bistro, which specialises in the catch of the day. You can also enjoy drinks from the thatched pool bar, which offers views of stunning sunsets and regular evening entertainment. Enjoy complimentary afternoon tea and a weekly management cocktail party in the Silhouette Lounge. There are also a range of watersports to enjoy including windsurfing, hobie-cat sailing, snorkelling equipment and canoes free of charge. Independent providers of scuba diving, jet skis, waterskiing and paragliding are based on Beau Vallon Bay. There is also the opportunity to enjoy deep sea fishing (at a charge) and guests on half board can have their catch prepared at the hotel. Hiking through the rainforest-clad mountains behind Beau Vallon, star gazing from the rooftop observatory at the hotel and enjoying aromatherapy and Ayuvedic massages are further things to enjoy at Coral Strand. The accommodation at this hotel is basic and the style is traditional. Standard rooms are airconditioned and feature bath with shower, telephone and balcony. Seaview rooms are the same and afford views of the swimming pool and ocean, while Superior rooms are larger with a separate seating area. Superior seaview rooms are large with views toward the sea and can comfortably accommodate families of four.
