LOCAL SKI INFORMATION BEGINNERS Both resorts have nursery slopes with free lifts. Tignes has a wider choice of easy to reach runs for beginners. At Val d'Isère the Madeleine green on Solaise is a good place to start. INTERMEDIATES Fantastic terrain for all levels of intermediates from the blues and reds of Solaise to the long runs on the Grand Motte Glacier. Cruise from Tignes Val Claret to Le Lac or head to Les Brevières for lunch! ADVANCED The Espace Killy is one of the world's best resorts for experts with moguls, couloirs and extensive off-piste in all directions. APRÈS SKI The nightlife is Val d'Isère is lively with a great choice of bars from cosy refuges to British-run bars. Tignes is more relaxing but there are plenty of lively spots to be found. ACTIVITIES Swimming pools, sports centres, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, ice driving, paragliding, scenic flights and winter walks. Weekly open-air market and plenty of shopping.
