Megève is a charming, traditional resort of alpine chalets and luxury hotels amid a lovely scenic setting. The town is surrounded on all sides by gently wooded slopes and wonderful views that can be enjoyed from the mountains. There are miles of uncrowded slopes that are perfect for intermediates, but Megève is also popular with non-skiers due to the excellent range of other winter activities to enjoy.

LOCAL SKI INFORMATION BEGINNERS There are beginner slopes at valley level and at altitude on each of the main mountains. There are also plenty of long green runs on which to improve. INTERMEDIATES Delightful and varied skiing from bumps to bowls and tree lined slopes with good choices on Mt d'Arbois and at Rochebrune. ADVANCED Advanced skiers will find challenging skiing at Mont Joly and Mont Joux and can relish in the powder that remains largely untouched. APRÈS SKI There are plenty of restaurants both on the mountains and in the town from simple to gourmet. Nightlife is lively but smart and upmarket. ACTIVITIES Megève offers an excellent sports centre, outdoor ice rink and a weekly market. Scenic flights over Mt Blanc, sleigh rides, 50km of marked winter footpaths, snowshoe trails, heli-skiing, paragliding, excursions to Annecy and Chamonix, horseriding, hot air ballooning, ice driving and rock climbing!
