BEGINNERS There are convenient nursery slopes at the foot of the resort and gentle long blue runs above the village. Beginners can also take advantage of the reduced price beginners lift pass. INTERMEDIATES Val Thorens is an intermediate skier and boarders playground with some of the best blue and reds in the Three Valleys. There are long wide open slopes from the Funitel and at the Peclet glacier and easy runs lead to Les Menuires. There is also an excellent terrain park for freestyle skiers and boarders. If you enjoy clocking up the kilometres, the vast Three Valleys offers endless terrain. ADVANCED Advanced skiers will find plenty to keep them happy with powder runs on the glaciers and some steep black challenging runs from the Cime de Caron along with excellent off-piste opportunities. 96 APRÈS SKI There is a good selection of lively bars including the infamous Frog and Rostbif pub, a cinema and two shopping centres. ACTIVITIES Val Thorens has a large indoor swimming pool and leisure complex. Outdoor activities include paragliding, micro-light flights, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice driving and tobogganing on the superb 6km long run! FAMILIES The Ecole du Ski Français (ESF) offers excellent childcare including a nursery for children from 3-18 months, creche from 18 months - 3 years and Piou Piou ski kindergarten for 3-4 years which includes childcare and a 45 minute ski lesson in the snow garden. Run by English speaking, qualified staff. Group ski lessons operate for children from 4-12 years. Minimum age 7 years for snowboard lessons. Prices from £105.
