KICKING HORSE Kicking Horse is a playground for advanced intermediates and expert skiers and boarders, with huge alpine bowls and over 1,000m of vertical and some seriously challenging terrain. However there are also a number of immaculate green and blue runs that weave down from the Eagle Eye Gondola to keep beginners and improvers happy. JASPER Marmot Basin, approximately 20 minutes drive from Jasper, offers a superb mix of terrain for all abilities. Well groomed, uncrowded trails through trees are perfect for families, beginners and intermediates and the hundreds of acres of challenging steep alpine bowls, chutes and glades will test even the most advanced skiers and boarders. FERNIE Beginners will relish the soft powder snow on the gentle, perfectly groomed, wide open slopes, on the lower area of the mountain. Intermediates have plenty of runs to explore including the fabulous Cedar Bowl. Advanced skiers and boarders have seemingly endless terrain with numerous chutes, steeps and deep powder bowls. However real powder hounds should try the excellent cat-skiing APRÈS SKI Kicking Horse offers a selection of bars and restaurants including the Highland Pub. Jasper has a good range of friendly, inexpensive lively bars and a good range of restaurants. Fernie hosts a great range of friendly bars and excellent choice of restaurants catering for all tastes.
