We recommend only a one night stay in the Ice Igloo. Per person per night prices from £169 including breakfast, dinner, morning sauna and thermal sleeping bags woollen socks and hood. Hotel and Igloo Village Kakslauttanen offers a complete range of facilities including log cabins and the famous Igloo Village set amidst beautiful scenery approximately 20 minutes drive from Saariselkä. Winter activities and cross-country tracks start right outside the door. Breakfast is taken in the attractive chalet style main building which also features a piano bar with occasional live music. There is also a traditional Lappish Kota Snow Restaurant with tables made of ice, restaurant and an ice bar. Kakslauttanen is also home to the worlds largest smoke sauna as well as a Finnish sauna both beautifully situated by the pond overlooking the Igloo Village, each with their own relaxation room, fireplace, showers and wc. It is possible to take a dip in the ice for a traditional Finnish experience!
log cabins
The rustic, traditionally styled small log cabins, sleep four and are made of the rare dead standing pine and feature a shower room, kitchenette, lounge area with a fireplace and double bed, or alcove with bunk beds and a private sauna. Large log cabins sleep five with bedrooms seperated by doors and an extra sofabed in the lounge.
igloo village
Whilst you are staying in Saariselkä take the opportunity to spend the night in one of the igloos. Marvel at the night stars or Northern Lights from inside the Glass Igloo or experience the magic of sleeping in an illuminated igloo made of Snow where it is so silent you can hear a pin drop. The temperature inside the Snow Igloo remains between -3c and -6c but the extreme temperature down sleeping bag and woollen socks and hood provided ensure you feel snug and warm. After the night in the Glass or Snow igloos, enjoy a sauna followed by a hot shower. Glass Igloos have a private wc.
