A morning at leisure then drive west through the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer for a stay of two nights at Sonargarh Fort. A city tour of Jaisalmer's historic `golden' fort and the myriad of narrow lanes dotted with magnificent temples and lively markets is included. Approx. 206 miles (5-6 hours).

Transfer to the Ashok Country Resort for two nights with an afternoon at rest in the expansive gardens. The following day enjoy a fascinating morning city orientation tour of Old Delhi, plus a visit to the Qutub Minar. In the afternoon tour the wide boulevards and striking monuments of Lutyen's New Delhi district, including a stop at India Gate and Government buildings en route.

A long drive to Jodhpur is broken with a visit to the 14th century Citadel of Fort Pokharan. Upon arrival in Jodhpur enjoy a leisurely evening. In the morning a tour of Merenangarh Fort and the `blue' city of Jodhpur is included, with an optional village jeep safari available. Approx. 177 miles (7 hours ).

Drive south to the romantic lakeside city of Udaipur. En route stop at the remarkable Jain Temples at Ranakpur. Enjoy a city tour of Udaipur stopping by the City Palace and Jagdish Temple, with an optional boat ride on Lake Pichola (subject to water levels) and a visit to the stunning Crystal Gallery available locally. Approx. 162 miles (5-6 hours).

A morning drive to Agra for one night at the Hotel Mansingh. In the afternoon visit the highlight of any tour, the glorious monument of love, the Taj Mahal. 20,000 craftsmen laboured for 20 years to build this fabulous memorial to Shah Jahan to honour his loving wife Mumtaz. The cool marble and clear symmetry are justifiably a masterpiece of the modern world. Later take a short tour around Agra including the 16th Century red sandstone fort. Approx. 130 miles (4-5 hours).

Enjoy a day at leisure before your transfer for your flight with Jet Airways to Mumbai, connecting with your onward Jet Airways flight to Heathrow arriving early the following day.

day 5 mon and day 6 tue jaipur
After an early breakfast leave Agra for the `pink city' of Jaipur stopping en route to see the deserted Mughal city of Fatephur Sikri. Arrive at the Mansingh Hotel for two nights. The next morning drive out of Jaipur and visit the ancient Amber Fort, perched high above the surrounding area, and later tour Jaipur's Royal Observatory, Maharajah's Palace and rest for a photo opportunity at the unique Palace of the Winds. Approx. 160 miles (5-6 hours).
