BAROS MALDIVES
A lush green interior of flowers and foliage is hemmed with a ribbon of dazzling white sand and sits surrounded by reef-protected waters amid an ocean that's impossibly blue. Tucked among the trees are natural thatched-roof villas. Raised above the water are beautiful wooden stiltvillas. Scattered in the ocean are desert islands. `Idyllic' isn't enough. Simplicity and style are in harmony on this tiny Maldivian island, which can be circled in a ten minute stroll. Diving and snorkelling grounds are quite superb with the coral house reef to one side of the island just a few feet from the beach. Baros Maldives has its own PADI Dive School and there are perfect conditions for windsurfing, canoeing and catamaran sailing within the coral lagoon. Private excursions can be arranged for a day on a desert island, taking a picnic to eat Crusoe-style and return to the hotel in time for a superb seafood dinner. Baros Maldives offers three stylish dining options, each with panoramic views of the ocean. The Lighthouse a unique two-tier overwater fine dining restaurant offers multicultural haute cuisine. Its wine cellar has a distinguished selection of precious vintage and new world wines. The Cayenne Grill serves grills from different cuisines and the Lime restaurant for more informal, al fresco all-day dining. Regular evening entertainment includes live music from local bands or relax with a cocktail under the trees outside the atmospheric bar. There is an Island boutique, games room with table tennis and pool table and an extensive DVD and CD library. The Aquum Spa provides a tranquil haven for relaxing treatments including massage. There is also a complimentary fitness centre. There are 30 Water villas, 20 Baros villas and 24 Deluxe villas each rendered in natural elements and have airconditioning, ceiling fan, espresso machine, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone, flat screen television, CD/DVD player, minibar and internet access. Deluxe villas are stand-alone thatched bungalows built just steps from the water's edge with a shaded terrace looking towards the beach, indoor shower and private garden bathroom with bath and shower. Baros villas are beautifully appointed with luxurious bathroom with bath, indoor shower and separate garden shower and with private terrace, sun deck and beach in front of the room. The Baros villas and Water villas have a four-poster bed, DVD/CD player and wine chiller. The exclusive Water villas are stilt-mounted over the sea and have steps down to the water from a large private balcony. They have spacious bathrooms with direct views of the Indian Ocean.
