After collecting your hire car (included), drive approx. 45 minutes into the heart of the winelands region and the achingly pretty town of Franschhoek. Spend two nights here at Le Quartier Francais, a Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel where a total gastronomic experience awaits. Your luxury room is tucked away around a central courtyard, pool and beautiful gardens, and the hotel's Tasting Room restaurant has been voted in the World's top 50 for the past three years running so be sure to book early! The surrounding area, set in beautiful rolling hills, is home to numerous wine estates and places of interest, and has an excellent climate. DAY 4 Drive approx. 30 minutes through the scenic valleys to Paarl, the winemaking capital of South Africa. Spend two

DAY 6 Continue westwards approx. 45 minutes into Cape Town and the oceanside Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa (p155), magnicently situated overlooking the Atlantic just outside Camps Bay and its numerous bars and seafood restaurants. Enjoy four nights exploring the city and its beaches at your own pace, returning each evening to your mountain facing room and the hotel's excellent restaurants and spa.
