DAY 1 Fly British Airways from Heathrow to Bangkok, arriving
E&O Singapore to Bangkok
The itinerary above is also available in reverse starting in Singapore and ending in Bangkok, including ights with British Airways, three nights in Singapore, only two nights aboard the E&O train and three nights in Bangkok, with the option of a ve night extension in Phuket including internal ights with Thai Airways and ve nights in a Deluxe Villa at Banyan Tree Phuket (p64).

DAY 5 Transfer to Hualampong station to board the elegant E&O Express train early this evening, before dinner on board, while the train travels through rice-elds and small villages. Take a coach the short distance to Kanchanaburi before returning to the train. DAY 7 After breakfast arrive at Butterworth and enjoy a guided excursion to the colonial city of Georgetown, the capital of Penang. Passengers travelling the Singapore to Penang route remain in Penang, those travelling to Bangkok continue north to Thailand. DAY 8 This morning arrive into Singapore and transfer to a Horizon Club room at Shangri-La Singapore (p93) for three nights. DAY 11 Fly British Airways from Singapore to Heathrow or extend to enjoy ve nights in Bintan.
E&O Bangkok to Penang
DAY 1 Follow the Bangkok to Singapore itinerary from Day 1 to Day 7 upon arrival in Butterworth. DAY 7 On arrival in Penang transfer to a Deluxe gardenwing room Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang (p99) for ve nights of indulgence at this ne hotel. DAY 12 Fly Malaysia Airlines via Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow, arriving the next morning.

DAY 11 Transfer to the port for a ferry ride to Banyan Tree Bintan and a Valley Villa (p94) for ve nights relaxation. DAY 16 Return by ferry to Singapore for your British Airways ight to London Heathrow, arriving the next day.
