In the sleepy village of Elounda, set high on a cliff with views of the mountainous coastline, expansive Mirabello Gulf and island of Spinalonga, you will discover the magnificent Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the only Greek hotel to be included in Tatler's 101 Best Hotels of the World for three consecutive years. Creators and hosts of this superb boutique Villa-Hotel offering privacy, pampering and independent living, is the Kadianakis family. Anna Kadianakis is the flair behind the sleek and beautifully furnished interiors with their hand selected decorative touches. She is also the smiling and efficient backbone of the excellent staff. There is a main infinity edge swimming pool with waterfall feature which flows seamlessly into the blues of the sea beyond, a cool and stylish bar and two à la carte restaurants serving meals using many fresh locally sourced ingredients and also offering a children's menu. Other facilities include a fitness centre offering sauna, Hamman and outdoor jacuzzi. Massages can be arranged either in the massage room or in the comfort of your villa/suite. There are just 10 suites and 18 villas. Luxury senior suites have a bedroom, separate living room with tea and coffee making facilities and are located near the main swimming pool. Luxury family suites are similar but have two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms and a terrace with sea views. The Aegean Villa has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, fully equipped kitchen and a large outdoor pool with jacuzzi and panoramic sea views, whilst the Mediterranean Villa is similar but each of the three bedrooms has an en suite bathroom. Transfer from Heraklion airport: 45 minutes. NB Hotel closed Oct 24 2007 to Mar 31 2008 and Oct 22 to Dec 31 2008.
